A Day with Kate and Josh

Lindsey and I had a special visit from Kate and Josh last weekend! They are the cutest, most fun couple and we loved spending some quality time with them! FYI: I prefer that my house guests and I wear matching outfits.
And that they bring me beautiful flowers.

Good job guys.

We went to Poncho's for some good old, ghetto Mexican food Arizona style...and to sit at a table with Bill Clinton eating tacos. It was very fun and yummy!

We also went to the Desert Botanical Garden. It was the perfect way to enjoy the great weather and see the beauty of the AZ desert.

My favorite part was the spring butterfly exhibit. There were tons of butterflies in a little aviary you could walk through and they liked to land on Lindsey's flowery dress. It was priceless! Lindsey's favorite part was sticking her head in this butterfly board. She makes a darling butterfly!

Group picture in the stick hut.

We lost Lindsey after awhile.

Elliot went to Moab so he missed the Phoenix fun, but he had a great time in Moab with his beloved Bronco, family and friends!

A few days after they left, Lindsey and I were looking at pictures on facebook and Linds pointed at Kate's picture and said, "Katie! Katie!" It was so cute! I'm glad she loves Kate as much as I do!

It begins...

Today, Lindsey went potty in her "pink, princess potty" the very first time I tried putting her on it!
Now this isn't just any potty chair, this one plays congratulations music when you go. When that first little trickle came out, the music sounded, she got the cutest, most surprised look on her face and she exclaimed "whoa!". We are so proud of her but I am a little scared of what her potty training future has in store for me! Oh well, here we go I guess! Let me know if you have any PT pearls of wisdom.

Hump Day!!!

Today, I am half way done with nursing school! 240 days down and only 239 more to go! Don't get me wrong, I love nursing...but the school part is pretty crazy! Here is my dorky "countdown to when I graduate" calendar. Everyday, I get to put a star up and it makes me very, very happy because I feel like I deserve a star everyday that I make it through nursing school!
Here's me and my special nursing school buddy Ashley. Bonding through adversity creates great friendships!

This is my clinical group in front of St. Joseph's Hospital. The lady in the white coat is my instructor Tilly and I LOVE her! She is one of those teachers I'll remember forever.

Diana trying to soak in some info!

This is my pal Krystle. She evaded getting her picture taken in scrubs so I guess she gets a more glamorous picture on the blog today.

Some more great friends...starting at the left...Danielle, say moi, Kohree, Lucinda, Amy and Kristain.

When Lindsey is napping, this is were you find me. It's my little study nook complete with a sweet kitty that always sits on my lap and purrs while I hit the books.

I think the hardest part of being in school is not being with my little angel! We have been really lucky that Elliot has been able to watch her while he works from home tho and I still get to come home and snuggle with her after a long day at school!

Elliot took these pictures of his two exhausted girls snuggling in front of the TV. I don't think there is a better way to unwind than to cuddle with Miss Linds.

School has been an adventure so far. It's amazing how much there is to learn about the human body...everything from learning what's in your blood to learning how to put an IV in! It's kinda funny cuz I have turned into quite a hypochondriac since I started studying all the many, many things that can go wrong with our bodies! I have self diagnosed myself with diabetes, breast cancer, skin cancer, hypoventilation, a brain tumor, heart murmur, hyperthyroidism, diverticulitis, anemia and a few mental disorders. No worries tho, I'm told most nursing students experience this and I have also been to the doctor many, many times to double check! Anyways, the first half of nursing school has gone by so fast and I'm sure the second half will be done before I know it! December graduation...here I come!

Happy Birthday Elliot!!!

Since Elliot had a kinda rotten birthday last year (car stolen, bad sunburn and sick), I wanted to make sure he had a GREAT one this year! We kicked off his B-day weekend at the County Fair.
The rides were a little expensive and Lindsey wasn't old enough to go on any of them, but it was fun to see all the farm animals. Lindsey didn't know what to think about this chubby little pig.

Or this poof of feathers that I told her was a chicken.

Lindsey is a pro at feeding petting zoo goats tho. Look at her cram the pellet into the white goats mouth!

I think her favorite animal was the adorable little chicks! She was trying as hard as she could to pry that gate open and snuggle with them.

My fav was the black and white cows that Moo is named after. They are just so cute...and tasty!

After the fair, we went to a local Mexican restaurant. Here's Linds chill'in like a villain on the drive there!

This is an awful picture, but I wanted to remember our fun little group. I love having Elliot's brother Warren and his family close so they can par-tay with us all the time!

Here's birthday morning Elliot snuggling with Linds and his prezzies! Can you tell she just LOVES her Daddy?

We did the puzzle Elliot got for his birthday too.
We had a birthday steak dinner, complete with cake and ice cream.

That's a lot of candles Elliot! Note: there is a little people figurine of each family member (including the pets of course) on his cake.

Elliot's only birthday request was that I make him deviled eggs. I had never made them before, but I had to try. So I called my mom for the recipe and went for it. I did everything right except the cutting part. I cut half of them width wise instead of length wise before Elliot caught me! Oh well, they tasted the same I guess. Both Elliot and Kelli said, "it was a classic Kristin move." So true, so true.

I think Elliot's favorite part of his birthday was the new humongous tires he got for his beloved Bronco. When I took this picture I told him he had to look really happy and this is what I got!

He's all ready for his Moab trip this week!

Happy Birthday Babe! Me and Linds love you so much!

Easter Weekend Fun

We had a great Easter this year. My Mom and Dad were here for the long weekend and it was jam packed with fun! I think this is such a sweet picture of my little bunny with her Daddy on Easter morning. Elliot is so sweet to his girls.
Here's what the Easter bunny brought Lindsey

I had a Martha Stewart moment and made these. The marshmallow one is supposed to be a lamb.

We had Easter dinner at our house this year. After dinner we had an Easter egg hunt and an Easter pinata!

This is Lindsey's first pinata experience and she did great! Every time she would hit the pinata she would yell, "Ouw!" That's what she says when she hits her Mommy too.

It was pretty funny to watch what happens when you give a 4 year old boy who has been eating candy all day a tennis racket and tell him to have fun!

That a boy Blake!

We went to the Easter Pageant at the Mesa Temple. It was wonderful and a great reminder of why we celebrate Easter.

This little lamb was so cute. Lindsey was kind enough to share a few cheerios with him.

Lindsey is really into books and enjoyed having her own librarian Grandma to read to her all weekend.

We went to the Phoenix Zoo too!

Driving a tractor with Grandpa

This cow at the petting zoo just got a kiss from Miss Lindsey. So gross.

Brushing the goats. Good times.

Lindsey will swipe her Daddy's hats and wear them around the house all the time.

Cutest little ute I've ever seen!

Lindsey LOVES dolls. She feeds them, sings to them, gives them binkis, wraps them in blankets and gives them lots of kisses and hugs. She even makes sure they have clean diapers!
