Ditch'in the Mullet

Lindsey got her first haircut today! This is a before picture. Like any woman, she looks nervous but excited about the new hairstyle she's about to get.

Business in the front, party in the back baby!

I had to work pretty hard to keep it from looking this ratty all the time. It was definitely time for a trim.

Today I learned that if I ever want Lindsey to sit perfectly still for a long period of time, all I need to do is strap her in a chair, give her a lollipop and put on some cartoons. It was like magic.

Ta da! Here's her trimmed, healthy adorable curls!

We made a quick trip to Utah this weekend for Alex's bachelor party and Carol's bridal shower! (Unfortunately, we forgot to take pictures of both events. Oops!) We had a whole lot of fun though and we are super excited that Carol is joining our family next month.
On the 24th, Lindsey went to her first rodeo! She makes a dang cute cowgirl!

I saw her boots at Target a couple weeks ago and I had to get them! Best purchase ever.

She can yell "ye haw!" and make a really animated horsey sounds too!

Lindsey cuddling and talking with Grandma's cat.

We went to the aquarium!

And played in the coral reef.

Linds was excited to pet a sting ray.

So excited that she would have dived right in if Mommy hadn't stopped her!

We went to Jenica's Birthday BBQ up Milcreek Canyon. You wouldn't be able to tell from this picture, but Lindsey really liked Jenica!

All of the old Lake Street girls where there too! It brought back some great memories of all the shenanigans we got into when we were all roommates! I think we should write a book.

Awwwww...

This is the look my dogs give me when they want me to pet them. They just sit there like good little dogs and stare at me with their big, brown, puppy dog eyes. It is even more adorable in person.

Fun with Pets

We took the dogs to the lake this weekend to escape the heat and have some fun. Warren, Blake and Bear came too and we had great time enjoying mother nature!

I don't care what anyone says...I have THE cutest nephew in the world. Just look at him! He really wanted to go swimming but didn't have his swimsuit so he just stripped down to his underwear and hopped right in!

The kids were whining too much so we threw them in back with the dogs.

Just tease'in. We put them back there to have some doggy fun!

I am a cat person, Elliot is a dog person, but I can't decide which species Miss Linds prefers. She loves to play with the dogs and give them hugs. But then there's our sweet kitty Harry. She loves to tell him about her day while she snuggles with him/smooshes him. He's a good boy.

Check out my baby's curly, pig tailed hair! It can be hard to manage those curls sometimes but I LOVE them!

California Fourth of July!

We went with Josh and Kate to California this weekend for a quick Fourth of July getaway! Sooo much fun!

I like this picture because we all look pretty mischievous and cuz Elliot is wearing that shirt! It would be a good picture for our Christmas card.

Here's our happy group chill'in at the pier.

Beach Day! Whoop! Whoop!

Lindsey was the first one in the ocean! Unfortunately, it was because she ran into it, got scared and fell down. She didn't "get in" again!

She still loves the beach though.

Especially playing in the warm, sticky sand.

The beach is a great place to wrap up in a Disney princess towel, kick back in your pink chair and contemplate the meaning of being 2 years old.

The adults had fun at the beach too. Katie was buried but always had a smile on her face, even after Elliot accidentally threw sand in it.

The boys climbed weird things...per usual.

Our handsome hubbies!
The best part of the trip was the four and a half man bike ride! We rode this bike contraption on the coast, the pier, off road, up and down ramps and over fountains. The only time I thought it might not have been the best idea was when Katie was driving, we were riding down a steep hill and she took her hands off the wheel and yelled, "I don't want to do this anymore!" Oh Katie!

The girls were not aboard for this ride.

We also discovered that Lindsey is a natural in the saddle and can yell, "ye-haw" very loudly.

It was so cute! She was all smiles the whole pony ride!

We stayed out too late and had too much fun...poor tired little Linds. Josh and Katie were troopers when it came to all the tired two year old whining!

We got back into Phoenix the night of the fourth and we managed to catch some fireworks with the dogs.

Lindsey lasted about two minutes and then she was done. We managed to get this squirmy fireworks picture before we had to head back to the car! Oh well, may be next year she'll make it to the finale.
