What a week!

First things first...my newest little nephew Clayton Miles Lignell was born on Tuesday! He is soooooo cute! He measured in at 8 lbs 1 oz and 20 inches. Congratulations Warren and Kelli!

Here's Clayton with his favorite uncle. I think it is really cute that Blake and Clayton are brothers with the same age difference between them as Warren and Elliot. I bet they'll be best friends forever too!

I got to watch Blake and Bear while Warren, Kelli and Clayton were at the hospital. Good times.

Here they are both conked out after driving home from meeting Clayton. So sweet!

Blakey played so well with Lindsey. He loved bringing her tons of toys to play with and showing her what they do. He will be such a good big brother.

Here is Lindsey's first tooth shot! (You have to look closely..it's on the bottom!) She cut her second tooth yesterday.

Here is her mischievous grin! I get this face a lot. What a rascal!
And last but not least, we finished our floor this week! All I can say is "Sigh. Thank goodness I will never have to do that again." We are very pleased with the end results tho and when our backs, hands, knees and fingers stop hurting I'm sure we will be glad that we did it!

Facebook wins

Well, I was trying to avoid being a member of facebook and today I caved. I was opposed to facebook mainly because I spend way too much time online and I don't need one more thing gluing me to the computer...it sounds like it might be fun though! So my apologies to Lindsey, the dogs, Elliot and housework because I've found yet another distraction to keep me staring into cyberspace and neglecting you!

Congratulations Graduates!

My brother-in-law Warren graduated from ASU this weekend! Good job Warren! We are super proud of you.
My little brother Don graduated last weekend! Wait to go Don! He didn't walk, so I created a little something to help us visualize what he would have looked like in cap and gown. Isn't he handsome!

Elliot's Mom came and surprised Warren for his graduation! She is such a sweet Mom. Thanks for visiting Granny!

And thanks for another pedicure too! Kelli, Claudia and I met up with Julie and Betsy for a girls day out...ahhh...so relaxing and fun!

My foot is the black flip flop with all the dust on it because we are STILL tiling! Our house is a construction site and we are sick of it! Oh well, it will be so lovely once it's done! Here is another taste of the chaos. At least we're making progress.

My Sleeping Beauty

I'm getting a little sad that my baby is almost 11 months old...only one month left of babyhood. Where did the time go??? Anyways, even though I am EXHAUSTED I often find myself staying awake just to watch her sleep. I just want to soak up every moment of her. I guess that's what true love is! So a lot of you might think this video is boring (except for the Grandma's of course) but I think it is precious.

I love my cat Harry too! He comes and snuggles with us every morning. I think his meow is so funny cuz he tries to purr and meow at the same time. What a sweet guy.

Nothing says Happy Mother's Day like 2500 pounds of ceramic tile.

We have wanted to put tile in our house since we moved in and we are finally getting around to it! It is such HARD, SLOW work though. I am surprised my fingers still have the strength to type this post! We hoped we would be finishing up tonight or tomorrow but we are not even half way done yet. I love to do projects like this with Elliot though...bonding thru adversity it the best. The dogs and cats are pretty freaked out by the whole process. Harry is taking it the hardest. We have to lock him in a room and he never stops crying for us to let him out. Poor little guy. Here is footage of the construction site.

So as you can imagine my first Mother's Day is not quite what I imagined it to be! No breakfast in bed or relaxing all day while Elliot takes care of Lindsey for me. I even had to speak in church today. Boo! But Elliot has been really sweet and I do feel very lucky to get a tile floor! All in all, I am just glad I get to be a Mom and this Mother's Day will be a memorable one!

Ay ay ay ay! Happy Cinco de Mayo!

We celebrated this momentous day by going out to eat at Ponchos. It's a great little hole in the wall type place that has tasty homemade salsa (Elliot buys it in bulk) and a fun, quirky atmosphere. A funny thing about this restaurant is they have an entire room dedicated to Bill Clinton. Apparently he ate there once when he was president in an attempt to reach out to poor inner city businesses and they are big time Clinton fans now! Anyways, we were seated at the most special table of all where a mural of Pres. Clinton is painted on the wall so it looks like he is eating Mexican food with you! Here is a blurry camera phone picture of Bill, Lindsey and I.

Speaking of el presidente, I get to hear President Obama speak for Warren's graduation next Wednesday! I've never seen a president in real life before so I am stoked! I hope he brings Bo.

Oh great..now she can bite me and then make a run for it.

Lindsey had a big week. She cut her first tooth earlier this week, she says Daddy to Elliot (even though I have tried to get her to say Mama first since the day she was born) and then she crawled for the first time tonight. Here she is on the move.

It makes me a little sad that my baby is growing up but I am very proud of her. I have to say though, it has been WONDERFUL to have a baby that couldn't crawl all over the place for 10 months. But all good things must come to an end. I guess it's time to baby proof the house!
